In this course we will explore how writing helps an artist claim, reframe and integrate your past while visioning new possibilities for your work. We will cover creative living, listening, learning and teaching, self talk (silencing the critic), writers’ block, success vs. mastery, failure and fears, authenticity and the gift of accountability partners.

“Creativity is like breathing, we must rhythmically expand and contract.”

Come prepared with a blank notebook and an open heart :)

**Registration is required prior to the workshop in order to receive the Zoom link to join us. This workshop is an online event. Workshops are held in Eastern Standard Time. There is a minimum of 3 people to run this class

About the Instructor:

Mary Kay Robinson

I am a professional flutist who balances a career (in normal times) between performance, leadership and academia. I perform with orchestras and chamber musicians throughout the country as well as off broadway productions, world music and jazz, freelancing on a national scale. I try to be as versatile as possible, from Baroque flute, piccolo, alto flute to Penny Whistle, Renaissance music to jazz and Bossa Novas. I teach privately and have at the University level for 15 years and have a passion for teaching creatives through innovation and entrepreneurship.

About Arts Alive!

Arts Alive! is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization working to sustain, promote and expand access to arts and cultural resources in the Monadnock Region. Arts and culture are community assets that enhance financial strength, health and wellness, and social capital in the communities where they are supported. Arts Alive conducts studies and advocacy work to promote these ideas to the greater community and supports artists and businesses to fulfil community-wide goals in wellbeing and economic success. Arts Alive! members include a broad range of artists and arts and cultural organizations — museums, acting troupes, musical organizations, theaters, galleries — that share a common goal: to enhance arts and culture in the region. The Artist to Artist workshop series is an affordable opportunity for artists, performers, and craftspeople to learn more about topics that will increase their impact on community and economy in the Monadnock region. Arts Alive! Is supported generously by the NH State Council on the Arts, NH CHaritable Foundation, and the greater community. This program is sponsored by C & S Wholesale Grocers.
