Project Shakespeare marks 25 years of transforming students' lives through theatre education in 2019! To commemorate this anniversary, students from the past 25 years are coming together again to put on a once-in-a-lifetime production of King Lear at Aldworth Manor. Join us for this very special night of food, drink, theatre and stories from the students whose lives were influenced by the magic of theatre.
A mad king’s reign gives way to ruin.
King Lear is ready to “shake all cares and business from our age” and turn his realm over to his three daughters. His plan is to bestow the largest piece to the daughter who loves him most. But honeyed words and excessive pride blind Lear to the true motives of those around him, plunging king and kingdom into a world of treachery, madness and unspeakable acts revealing the worst and best in human nature.
